Asha's new room...

I think Mona watching Design on a Dime shows finally paid off. She totally rearranged Asha's new room and added some cool lights...blends in perfectly with the room color.

As you can see Asha is loving it...

On a different topic, doesn't Asha look like Clara from the "Clara and Asha". This book was a gift from Mona's sister, Stephanie.

Here's another gift from Stephanie. This rose plant is turning into a tree. I had to tie it up.

Mother's Day

Yesterday was fun but today will funner because it's Mother's Day! We decided to spend the day in Laguna Beach. We made our first stop at the Laguna Art Museum. American impressionist Colin Campbell Cooper (1858-1937) was on display. He was fascinated by architecture - mainly Spanish and Mexican styles. He also did major paintings of Indian architecture in India including Taj Mahal, Red Fort in New Delhi and several castles in my home state, Rajashtan.

After the museum, we had lunch at B.J.'s Pizza and Brewery. Great Pizza with Pear Cider...YUM!

After lunch, we made a quick stop at the beach but Asha wasn't feeling it. It was a great day for Mother's day. Here are some pictures...

I love this shot...

For whatever reason, Mona didn't believe this Herman Miller Chair by Eames was her Mother's Day gift.

Discovery Science Center

On May 12th, we decided to take advantage of the Bank of America's Free Museums promotion. We drove down to Santa Ana to check out the Discovery Science Center. Asha was more amused by the Elmo's World room than all the science related activities. Here are some pictures from our trip...

May Guest of the Month

On May 4th, my cousin Ravi was in town for few days. It was a busy week so we didn't get a chance to do everything as it was originally planned. On Friday evenining, we all went to a nice dinner at King's Seafood restaurant in Corona.

After the dinner, we dropped off Mona and Asha at home and we headed off to Sunset Blvd. in L.A. The scene was pretty weak so we made our next stop at a reception party for an art show. There were a few familiar artists in the show like Shepard Fairey, Sage Vaughn & Chet Zar among the new comers.

I think Ravi had his eyes on this painting:

Overall, the art show wasn't bad minus the experimental music set. The highlight of the evening was Marisa Tomei. She was actually there at the show. I thought she was much taller but she's still an attractive lady. And of course she didn't dress up like the picture below but we were still stoked to see her.

The following morning, did some shopping with Ravi, drove down to the Grove in L.A. and picked up the painting below from David Flores' agent, Jeremy Kove, in Venice Beach. Jeremy is also one of the masterminds behind the Art Prostitute magazine and the gallery by the same name.

On Sunday, we had our departing meal at Urban Thai in Corona. I left to Boise and Mona drove Ravi to Irvine to meet up with his friends. It was quick but sweet week.
